The Ritenour Board of Education held an emergency meeting on Aug. 15 and voted to amend the school calendar to delay the first day of school until Monday, Aug. 31. Students were originally scheduled to start the school year on Aug. 24.
As students return to learning on Aug. 31, our district will be starting the school year in Phase 3 - full-time virtual learning for grades K-12. Ritenour will continue to monitor conditions to determine when the district will move to Phase 2 for hybrid in-school/virtual learning for the families who want in-person learning for their children.
Under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act of 2020, families that qualify for free or reduced price meals at school may be eligible for a new one-time Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) of up to $302 per child (Pre-Kindergarten – Grade 12) to help cover the cost of meals students have eaten at home on days that schools have been closed.
All Ritenour School District buildings, fields, tracks and playgrounds are closed until further notice so that we can help do our part in reducing the spread of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.
