As Ritenour transitions to Phase 2 in-person learning for grades K-12 and Phase 1 in-person learning at its school for early childhood education, the district will no longer be able to offer meal delivery on its buses each day.
In January, the Ritenour School District will return from winter break with all students in Phase 3 (full virtual learning) from Jan. 4 through Jan. 14, 2021, which are the last two weeks of the first semester.
The Ritenour School District’s fall enrollment showed a decrease of 183 K-12 students from last year’s official count.
Beginning this year, Ritenour will not be required to make up days when school buildings are closed due to unexpected short-term closures such as inclement weather, illness or utility outages. Instead, the district will implement an Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) Plan on these days.
As part of the national 2020 Kids Voting USA, Ritenour School District students elected Joseph Biden as president of the United States.
Ritenour School District Coordinator of Professional Learning Evelyn Gilliam received the School Library Advocate of the Year Award from the Greater St. Louis School Librarians, an affiliate of the Missouri Association of School Librarians.
In early October, Ritenour’s PreK-3 students who selected the hybrid in-person learning option were able to return to classrooms with significant health and safety measures in place.
Due to the return of K-3 students for Phase 2 hybrid learning beginning on Oct. 7, all Ritenour School District elementary school parent-teacher conferences scheduled for that week have been postponed to a later date.
