    My name is Michelle Hampton. This is my 23rd year at Wyland and my 24th year teaching in the Ritenour School District. My first year I taught Speech and Drama at Hoech Middle School, followed by twelve years in 4th grade and ten in 2nd grade. I graduated from the University of Missouri- St. Louis with my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I received my Master’s degree in Gifted Education from Lindenwood University. I also completed thirty additional hours at other institutions. I have one daughter named Sammi who is fifteen years old and is starting her freshman year in high school this year. I have two dogs named Pepper and Precious. I love to read, shop, watch movies, and collect pigs and Eiffel towers. I am excited about teaching 3rd grade this year and am looking forward to a great year!

    Let me tell you a little bit about myself. This will be my twenty-third year teaching at Wyland.  Eleven of those years I spent teaching fourth graders, eight years I taught fifth graders, and now this will be my fourth year working with third graders. I am very excited to work with third graders this year! I received my Master’s degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. My family includes my husband, my three children (Izzie, Andy, and Madeline) and my 100+ pound golden lab, Brady. When I am not teaching I love to read, spend time with my family, and be outdoors. I am looking forward to a year filled with exciting learning experiences!

    Jake Sandman Jake Sandman

    Mr. Sandman will be teaching third grade this year.  He is entering his sixth year as a teacher.  
    Mr. Sandman has a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri-Columbia.  He also has a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education with an Emphasis in Reading from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
    Mr. Sandman has a niece named Hattie and a nephew named Hank.
    He has a wife named Annie and two dogs named Ella and Deuce.
    Mr. Sandman loves to play sports, listen to music, and read books.
