    Here are some fun facts-
Teaching is her number 1 passion and working out and exercising comes second. She recently reached a leg press goal leg of 500 lbs!
Ms. Schwendemann is pursuing her Master’s Degree in special reading at Lindenwood University.
She loves using mentor picture books in the classroom. Her top three favorites are Neck & Neck by Elise Parsley, Crown: An Ode to the Fresh Cut, and Spoon by Amy Krouse Rosenthal.

My name is Mrs. Allen and I teach 4th grade.   I’m a Ritenour graduate.  I also graduated from Southeast Missouri State University and Webster University.  I will be starting my 29th year of teaching and I’ve taught third-fifth grade. I’ve been teaching at Wyland my whole career.  I’m a big Snoopy fan and have been for most of my life.  I love teaching and working with children because it’s never a dull moment.

My husband and I live with our daughter Jada and our dog Ziggy.  Our son Derek just recently moved to Rhode Island from Pennsylvania.  I love dogs, reading,  watching movies, listening to good music, and playing with my dog Ziggy.

I’m excited to be starting a new year and look forward to meeting my new students.  Let’s do our best and be the reason someone smiles!
