Hi! My name is Mr. Laffoon. Welcome to fourth grade. I am so excited about this school year. This is my twelfth year teaching, and third year as a Wyland Dolphin! I previously taught for ten years in Mid-Missouri. I have a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and a Master's in Education with a Major in Educational Leadership. This school year will be filled with fun, lots of learning, and new adventures. I love teaching and spending time with family and friends. I love to be in the outdoors and love city life. I have one older brother and one nephew.

I have a sweet six-year-old Mini Schnauzer named Tucker! You will hear lots of stories about him this year.

My husband and I have been married for 16 years, and we have two children.  I enjoy working out, and I enjoy hiking the many Missouri trails and parks with my family.

Reading and movies are two of my favorite ways to spend my free time!

Hello new friends!  My name is Mrs. Leigh. I  have been teaching for 25 years, ten of those years have been as a 4th grade teacher in the Ritenour School District. 4th graders are so much fun and I look forward to getting to know you. I can't wait to explore Math, Reading, Writing, Science, and Social Studies with you this year!

I have been married for 34 years.  I have 3 children and 2 grandchildren.  I love to travel, especially to see my grandchildren in Michigan.  When I am not traveling, I love to read.  Last May, I got my Masters in TESOL(Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages). Proof that you are never too old to learn new things!!

Hey, hey, hey! My name is Grace Schwendemann, but everyone calls me Ms. S for short! I am so excited to be sharing my sixth year of teaching with the Wyland community. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Southeast Missouri State University and a Master’s in Special Reading from Lindenwood University. I am very passionate about reading and love sharing my favorite stories with others!

During my free time, I enjoy working out at the gym and spending time with my family—especially my lazy dog, Shadow. My favorite animal is a sloth! I even have a classroom pet sloth named Hairy Terry, he loves to hang from the ceiling and listen to our stories. Although he isn’t a real-life sloth, he is still a member of our classroom community and is always excited to meet new people! Feel free to stop by anytime to say hello!

I can’t wait to begin the school year and look forward to seeing your smiling faces in the hallway!
