Janiya Scott (Student)

  • Janiya Scott Janiya Scott, Ritenour High School class of 2022, was sworn as a student representative on the Ritenour Board of Education on Feb. 11, 2021. She will continue to serve in an advisory position on the school board until April 2022.

Scott is the second student representative to serve on the school board.

Scott, who attended Marvin Elementary and Ritenour Middle prior to RHS, said she is excited to be a voice for students on the school board. She has a brother at Ritenour Middle and a sister at Marvin. Her older sister graduated from RHS in 2020.

“I want to serve on the school board because I  feel like I can make a change before I graduate,” said Scott. “I would like to leave a positive mark...and show all Ritenour students and teachers that their voices and opinions count in the Ritenour School District.”

Although this is Scott’s first formal position on the school board, she is no stranger to the board. She made her debut in front of the board as a seventh-grader by making a presentation about math and then as an eighth-grader with a presentation about coding.
