    I have been a teacher for 21 years. I grew up in Texas where my relatives still live. I have been married to my husband, Jeff, for 27 years. We have three grown children.
     
    I enjoy international food, travel, and singing. I have traveled to China and Hong Kong as well as all over Europe. I did volunteer work in Slovenia and Spain and studied for a summer at the Universidad de Guanajuato in Mexico. I love teaching English Learners!

    My name is Ms. Darby. I am one of the English Language (EL) specialists at Wyland. I have been teaching for 10 years and in this role for 8 years. I support and teach English to students who speak a first language other than English. I love working with our diverse group of students at Wyland! 
    Prior to teaching EL, I taught 2nd grade at Marvin Elementary and 3rd grade in the Hazelwood School District. Teaching is my passion!
    In my free time, I spend lots of time with my daughters, Avery and Noel. We love to go to the park and travel!

    Mi nombre es Sra. Darby. Soy uno de los especialistas en idioma inglés (EL) de Wyland. He estado enseñando durante 10 años y he enseñado inglés durante los últimos 8 años. Apoyo y enseño inglés a estudiantes que hablan un primer idioma que no es inglés. ¡Me encanta trabajar con nuestro diverso grupo de estudiantes en Wyland!
    Antes de enseñar EL, enseñé segundo grado en la escuela primaria Marvin y tercer grado en el distrito escolar de Hazelwood. ¡Enseñar es mi pasión!
    En mi tiempo libre, paso mucho tiempo con mis hijas, Avery y Noel. ¡Nos encanta ir al parque y viajar!

    This is my fourth year teaching in the Ritenour School District, and my second year as a Wyland Dolphin! I work with Kindergarten and First Grade English language learners. I’ve been a teacher for 16 years and have 8 years of experience as an English language specialist. I have worked with ELs at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Prior to working exclusively with ELs, I taught first grade both in Phoenix, AZ, and Omaha, NE. 
     
    I’m a St. Louis County native, and after a long time away, I decided 4 years ago to move back to the area to be closer to family. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my fur babies, two dogs, and two cats. I also enjoy listening to audiobooks and attending live performances with my loved ones.
