    Students must be 5 years of age on or before July 31 to register for kindergarten.

    Welcome to the Ritenour School District!  We are extremely proud of our students, staff and supportive community and invite you to join our Ritenour family.  Here, we are committed to ensuring every student succeeds every day.

    To begin the registration process please visit the Student Services Department at 2420 Woodson Road, Overland, MO 63114.  The hours for registration are M-F 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and again from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.  For more information, you may contact us at 314-493-6048.     Families must provide proof of residency; documentation verifying you own, rent, or lease property in your name in the Ritenour School District boundaries.  If you cannot provide documents in your name, a residency waiver is required.  If you are seeking a residency waiver, the homeowner will need to bring the required documentation at the time of registration.  

    Families with unusual situations, such as families or students in transition, foster care, or students with unique guardianship circumstances may contact 314-493-6048 to schedule an appointment. Caregivers will be required to provide proof of residency, guardianship, school records, birth certificate, and immunization verification.


    Registration Requirements

    The following items are requirements to register your child(ren) in the Ritenour School District:
    Bring Valid Photo ID (from owner/leaseholder also, if applicable)
    Bring Birth Certificate
    Bring Proof of Guardianship (Court Appointed Documents, Divorce Decree, DFS Placement Papers, Foster Care Documentation)
    Bring Child's immunization record (Check physical exam requirements.)

     

    Proof of Residency

    Must provide one document from each of the following lists: A, B and C

    List A (1 Document)

    Bring Lease/Rental Agreement
        -Name of parent/legal guardian/caregiver (or owner/leaseholder, if applicable)
        -Lease signed by landlord and tenant
        -Lease Not Expired
    Bring  Mortgage Statement
        -Name of parent/legal guardian/caregiver
        -Dated within the last 30 days
    Bring  Property Deed
        -Name of parent/legal guardian/caregiver
    Bring  Real Estate Tax Receipt
        -Name of parent/legal guardian/caregiver
        -Most recent year
    Bring  Residential Sales Contract
        -Name of parent/legal guardian/caregiver
        -Contract Signed
        -Date of Purchase/contract

    List B (1 Document)

    Bring Current utility bill or utility service connection letter
        -Name of parent/legal guardian/caregiver
        -Dated within the last 30 days or when service was connected
        -Both service and mailing address within the district
        -Disconnection and final notices are not accepted

    List C (1 Document)

    Bring  Occupancy permit
    Bring Credit card or bank statement with name, address (dated within 30 days)
    Bring IRS tax statement with name, address (dated within 30 days)
    Bring Social Services, Social Security or other legal/court/government-issued documents with name, address (dated within 30 days)
    Bring  Missouri ID that reflects residency address

    Regardless of the documents that may be available, simply owning or renting property within district boundaries does not establish residency; the primary criterion is the location of the family's actual domicile. The district has the right to request additional proofs at any time or to employ other means to verify residency. Under Missouri law, misrepresenting residency is a misdemeanor. If a family's residency status changes or is found to be inaccurately represented, the district may act to recover the cost of services provided.


    To Begin the Registration Process

    NEW or returning students:
    You are considered a new student if one of the following applies:

    • My student was not enrolled in any Ritenour School District school on the last day of the prior school year.
    • My child will be attending Kindergarten in the Ritenour School District. (Students must be 5 years of age on or before July 31, 2021 to register.)
    • My student was previously enrolled in the Ritenour School District, withdrew, and is now returning.
    • My child is new to the district since we recently bought or leased a residence in the Ritenour School District.

    • If you own or lease/rent property in your name, you must show proof of residency from Lists A through C, including a valid photo ID.
    • If you do not own or lease/rent property in your name, the owner/lease holder will provide the same documentation. Identification from the parent/guardian will also be required.


    Frequently Asked Questions

    What legal documents should I bring?
    Parents/guardians should bring court documents such as guardianship, custody, restraining orders, divorce decrees or other such legal material, if applicable to the child.

    Should I bring my child with me?
    It is not necessary for you to bring your child with you to register him or her in school. We are limiting the number of visitors to the building.

    Can I go to my child’s school and register?
    No. The registration process begins with the registration department.
