My name is Mattisyn Perak and I am so excited to be a part of the Wyland Elementary community this year! I was born and raised in Chicago, IL. I moved down to St. Louis where I attended Saint Louis University for both my undergraduate and masters degrees. I began my speech-language pathology career back in Chicago where I worked in a suburban school district for two years. I moved back to St. Louis this summer, and I am very happy to be here! This will be my third year as an SLP and my first year working in the Ritenour district.
In my free time, I love being outdoors, exercising, trying new restaurants, traveling, shopping, and spending time with family and friends. I am looking forward to an awesome school year!

Hello! My name is Kaela Luna, and I am one of the Speech-Language Pathologists at Wyland. I started my career at Wyland, and am honored to be returning for a 4th school year here. I love being a part of the Ritenour and Wyland communities. As an SLP, I work with students from K-5 to help improve their communication skills. It is amazing to see all of the progress our students make throughout each school year.
Prior to beginning my career, I attended Maryville University, where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Next, I attended Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville (SIUE), where I earned a Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Although I may have completed my education, I continue to learn new things every day by working with students. My goal for this upcoming school year is to learn more about AAC communication devices.
When I’m not at school, I enjoy running/exercising, reading, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. I also spend a lot of time with the two little boys I nanny, who are 4 and 6. I spent this past summer doing all of the activities mentioned above, so I am ready to be back at Wyland for another amazing school year!
