Progress as Promised: Ritenour Continues to Complete Proposition S Bond Issue Projects

  • Thanks to the community's tremendous support through the Proposition S bond issue, improvements continue at Ritenour schools and facilities to provide the best learning environment for all students and staff members.

Proposition S is a $19.5 million zero tax rate change bond issue that voters overwhelmingly approved in June of 2020.  Ritenour is making the needed repairs and renovations without raising the tax rate for district residents.

Since the summer of 2020, many projects have been completed, including new and resurfaced parking lots, energy-efficient lighting upgrades, much-needed brick tuckpointing, replacement of playground pads, HVAC replacement and updates, and new entrances at Ritenour Middle School, Marion Elementary and Wyland Elementary.

Construction continues on two large renovation projects at Ritenour High School (RHS)  - a new fitness center and cafeteria upgrades. The new fitness center is near completion, and the cafeteria upgrades are scheduled for completion in the winter or spring of 2024.

“We thank our community for its continued support of our students, staff and school district,” said Ritenour Superintendent Dr. Chris Kilbride. “Our community should be very proud of the facilities that we offer to our students. This work is so important to protect the investment in the buildings where our students learn both today and in the future.”
