Special Education Services
Special School District (SSD) provides special education services and technical education to students in the Ritenour School District and St. Louis County. The services provided by SSD are governed by the Individuals with Disabilities Act and are based on a student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP). The special education programs provided are the joint responsibility of the Special School District and the Ritenour School District. The school principal works with special education coordinators to provide special education services in each school. A variety of services, including learning disabilities, language, occupational and/or physical therapy, and vision and hearing impairments, are provided by SSD teachers who teach in Ritenour schools. Students complete extensive testing and intervention before being evaluated for these services. If you have further questions, please contact SSD at (314) 989-8208 or Ritenour’s SSD Coordinator at (314) 493-6055.

Programs at the two high schools are open to all students grades 10-12. The technical programs are available on a full- or half-day basis.
