CareSTL Health provides services for Ritenour students during the school day Mondays through Fridays.
The Husky Health Center allows students to access health services – including pediatric medical care and behavioral health services– during school hours. Services include chronic disease management for asthma and diabetes, wellness exams, immunizations, annual and sports physicals, nutrition guidance and referrals for other medical services at the new center. CareSTL Health staff who will see patients are licensed pediatrician, nurse practitioner, registered medical assistant and a licensed clinical behavioral health consultant who provides counseling.
When the district offers in-person learning, a district minivan transports students to and from school to the Husky Health Center, according to a set schedule. Parents and guardians also can take their children to the center during early morning walk-in hours. They also may accompany their child at their appointment during the school day.
CareSTL Health will seek payment for services from the patient’s medical insurance payer source. However, no patient will be turned away because of an inability to pay. No payments are requested at the time of service from students.
CareSTL Health also offers school-based health care centers in three other St. Louis area districts.
