    The Ritenour Adult Education & Literacy (AEL) Program provides free services that help adult students obtain the skills necessary to earn a High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma, prepare for post-secondary education, become U.S. citizens, improve English-as-a-Second Language (ESL) proficiency, find and keep a job, and achieve other academic, employment, or personal goals. Students attending any classes in any program of AEL must be at least 17 years old or 16 years old with 16 high school credits, no longer attending high school, provide documentation from previous school, and attend a mandatory orientation.

    -- The program begins summer break on May 31, but HiSET (High School Equivalency Test) classes will resume on Aug. 22. Adults who would like to learn to English can also take free classes, which begin on Sept. 12.

    Registration opens Aug. 1 to enroll in either HiSET or English language learning classes.

    Students can obtain the skills necessary to prepare for post-secondary education, improve their proficiency in English and achieve other academic, employment or personal goals. Students must be at least 16 years old and no longer attending high school. All programs are free, including supplies. Classes are available Monday through Saturday in the mornings, afternoons and evenings at the Adult Learning Center, 8762 St, Charles Rock Road, 63114.     All Classes are FREE!
