Husky Support Center Dedication and Official Grand Opening Set for Aug. 28
The Ritenour School District community is invited to the dedication and official grand opening of the new Husky Support Center on Saturday, Aug. 28 at 9 a.m. The Husky Support Center is the home of the district’s bus depot and the Ritenour Co-Care Food Pantry. It is located at 9303 Midland Blvd. in Overland.
The event will kick off with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9 a.m. and then will feature an open house until 10 a.m. View the flyer here. Since purchasing the property in July 2019, Ritenour has upgraded the plumbing and electrical systems in the building, provided structural updates, added new lighting and has done extensive concrete work. The district has also added parking for buses, installed new fencing around the campus, worked to decrease light and sound pollution for nearby home owners and provided a new entrance for the food pantry.
In addition to serving as the transportation hub and home to Ritenour Co-Care, the district also has plans to use the space for centralized storage to free up much needed space in schools. Ultimately, the facility will also be home to Ritenour’s Husky Health Center and other district services.
The Ritenour Co-Care Food Pantry is the second largest pantry in the St. Louis area and serves hundreds of district families each month who live in the Ritenour School District. The grand opening celebration was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Anyone planning to attend is asked to park in the lot behind the building located off Shelley Ave.
