The Ritenour Board of Education amended and approved the Ritenour School District Return to Learning Plan during its meeting on Feb. 10 that transitions the district to a mask-recommended status later this month.
Beginning Tuesday, Feb. 22 wearing a mask indoors will move from mandatory to recommended for all Ritenour School District students and staff.
Also as of Feb. 22, returning to a mask mandatory environment will be made at the individual school building level in the district. Based on the board’s decision, if an individual school has a student positivity rate of 2% or higher for COVID-19 in the building, mandatory masking will be reinstated for at least two weeks and continue until the positivity rate falls below 2%.
Due to federal law, all students and bus drivers must wear masks or face coverings at all times on Ritenour buses.
The board also approved updates to the plan to eliminate spectator limits for athletics and activities. Ritenour no longer has limits on the number of spectators at school or district events, effective immediately.
Social/physical distancing at a minimum of 3 feet while indoors will continue to be the goal in Ritenour.
The Ritenour School District is an equal opportunity employer. The District is also committed to maintaining a workplace and educational environment free from illegal discrimination or harassment in admission or access to, or treatment or employment in, its programs, activities and facilities. Discrimination or harassment against employees, students or others on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, disability, age or any other characteristic protected by law is strictly prohibited in accordance with law.
