Marvin Elementary Third-Graders Win Second Place in National Math Competition
Marvin Elementary third-graders made a splash in math this spring as they took second place out of 34,000 classrooms nationwide in a SpringBoard online math competition.
Dion Johnson’s class competed in the 10-week online SplashLearn competition by completing math skill problems that covered: addition, subtraction, word problems, time, reading graphs, money, multiplication, geometry, advanced multiplication, and fractions.
“They loved participating and really honed their math skills while having a lot of fun,” said Johnson. “It provided us a platform to reinforce the three pillars that our classroom stands for -- hard work, dedication and commitment to excellence.”
The class was spotlighted for their excellence on the SplashLearn website.
