Message from Principal Dr. Brian Rich
January 20, 2023
Dear Ritenour Middle School Families,
I wanted to personally share with you the news that I will be leaving Ritenour Middle School (RMS) at the end of this school year. I have been named the new principal at Hollenbeck Middle School in the Francis Howell School District beginning July 1, 2023.
It was a very difficult decision to leave my RMS family. It truly has been an honor to work alongside so many wonderful staff members, students and families during my 14 years in the Ritenour School District. During those 14 years, I spent my first two as the Director of the Husky Academy (formerly known as the Re-Entry Center) and the final 12 at Ritenour Middle as an assistant principal and principal. Being able to witness so many students grow in these learning communities has been a blessing.
It is important to know that Ritenour will begin searching for a new principal in the next few weeks to ensure that RMS continues to have strong educational leadership to improve the learning of Every Student, Every Day. An interview team will be formed for the selection of the next principal and there will be an opportunity for students, parents and staff members to be involved. Once a leader is chosen, I will do everything I can to ensure that they have a successful transition into this great role as principal of Ritenour Middle School.
Be assured that I am absolutely committed to our Ritenour Middle School community through the end of this school year. I hope to see many of you at our great school events in the coming months, and my door remains open to all of you and your students at all times. As I tell our students every day on the morning announcements, I look forward to “making it a great day” every day for the rest of this school year. With the phenomenal community of educators I’ve had the pleasure to work with here at RMS, I know this will also be true in the years to come.
Sincerely,
Dr. Brian Rich
Principal
