2022 Graduating Seniors Celebrated During Senior Walks Through Former Schools
As they were cheered on by students and teachers, graduating seniors from the Ritenour High School Class of 2022 took one last emotional walk on May 23 through the hallways of schools that were part of their journey.
But for many of the graduating seniors, the celebration wasn’t only about them. It was about their tribute to all the teachers and staff who helped them achieve success and prepared them to cross the stage on June 4.
Hugs, tears and high-fives were bountiful during the walks between the graduating seniors and their teachers and principals, as younger students cheered with hand-made congratulatory signs, poms and music.
“It was so wonderful to walk through my school and pay tribute to the teachers who helped me get where I am today,” said graduating senior Kelci Sutton after her walk through Kratz Elementary. “I know I wouldn’t be where I’m at today without Ms. Mendel who pushed me and showed me how important it was to work hard. It was an honor to be able come back one last time and thank everyone who was part of my education here.”
The tradition of the graduation walks through Ritenour elementary, middle and high schools resumed this year after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
