RHS Student Heads to State DECA Conference with Award-Winning Business Plan
Ritenour High School senior Gabriela Garcia Figueroa will spend part of her spring break sharing her start-up business plan at the Missouri DECA State Career Development Conference in Kansas City, Mo.
Garcia Figueroa qualified to enter her project at the state conference March 24-26, 2019 after earning second place in the Start-Up Business Plan category and third place in Entrepreneurship at the district conference in February. Her business plan for Dry Me Clean is a unique company that combines cleaning clothing and delivery service. Her plan also includes an app that customers can join for communication purposes.
“Gabriella is one of the most mature students I have encountered over the years,” said Kelly Holloway, RHS business teacher and DECA sponsor. “She wrote her business plan alone with very little guidance from her teachers.
Garcia Figueroa plans to pursue her business after graduating from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania, where she received a scholarship early decision.
