Ten Huskies Qualify for 2019 State Track & Field Championships
Ten Huskies punched their tickets to compete at the 2019 Missouri Track & Field Championship in eight events on May 24-25 in Jefferson City after outstanding finishes in the Class 5 Sectional 2 meet on May 18.
The lady Huskies will be competing at state in the 4x400M relay, 300M hurdles and high jump. The RHS boys will be competing in the 4x200M relay, 4x800M relay, 300M hurdles, triple jump and high jump.
The state-bound team includes:
Sophomore Nyla Adams, who placed first at Sectionals in the 300M hurdles with a time of 44.06 and third in high jump with a height of 4’10”.
The girls 400-meter relay team of seniors Adreona McCraw, Taylor Whipple-Jones, Andria Brooks and Adams finished 4th at Sectionals with a time of 4.09.3. Alternates heading to state are sophomore Reianna Richmond and freshman Kelci Sutton.
The boys’ 200-meter relay team of sophomore Kendrick Canup, junior Joe Kipper, senior Shadeed Blue and sophomore Sam Williams finished fourth at Sectionals with a time of 1:30.85.
Senior Justin Johnson came in second at Sectionals with a triple jump of 45’3” and third in high jump at 6’.
Junior Kenneth Ellis finished third n the 300mM hurdles with a time of 40.98.
