Ritenour High School Junior Named KMOX/SEMO Student of Achievement
She may only be a junior at Ritenour High School, but Kaila Anderson already has received scholarship offers for being a standout student who is making a difference in her community.
Anderson recently was selected as a KMOX/Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) Student of Achievement. In addition to being recognized on KMOX radio, she has been offered a $3,000/year renewable scholarship to attend SEMO after graduation. Anderson was selected for this honor based on her outstanding academic achievement, community service, leadership and athletic accomplishments.
With a 4.25 GPA, Anderson balances her studies with a variety of community service opportunities through RHS Leadership. She says she has enjoyed serving others, especially feeding the homeless, volunteering with children at Ritenour elementary schools and empowering her peers through projects that promote unity and kindness. She also is involved in the school’s Game Changer’s club that promotes a variety of social justice activities.
Outside of school, Anderson is a mid-fielder on a select soccer team and does child care at Harmony Church.
