Graduation for Ritenour High School Class of 2020 Moved to Moore Field

Moore Field

Chaifetz Arena officials notified the Ritenour School District today (July 6, 2020) that they will not be able to accommodate events, including our graduation ceremony, on Saturday Aug. 1 due to the pandemic. However, to celebrate our graduates, the district has moved the location of the ceremony to the Ritenour High School campus on Moore Field. The ceremony will still begin at 6 p.m. on Aug. 1.

“We are committed to making the 2020 graduation ceremony a safe and memorable celebration during this ever-changing situation with the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Ritenour High School Principal Dr. Jeff Marker.

“Seating in Moore stadium will be available both on the field and in the bleachers, but families will be limited to six tickets that they can reserve based on the space within the stadium and the St. Louis County health department’s regulations regarding crowds and social distancing during the pandemic,” added Marker. “The ceremony will be livestreamed on YouTube so family and friends who cannot attend in person can enjoy this occasion, and will allow our graduates to remember this day by watching it again.”

Information will be shared with families soon on how to reserve a limited number of free tickets. Limits may be reduced closer to the event if the county changes its regulations. Graduates, guests and staff will be required to wear masks during this outdoor event to reduce risks of the spread of COVID-19, per the county’s order that went into effect on July 3.

In the event of inclement weather, which we are certainly hoping doesn’t happen, RHS will offer another option at Ritenour High School to celebrate our amazing Class of 2020.  Ritenour will alert families to that plan as needed.
