Ritenour Welcomes New Assistant Principal to Iveland Elementary
The Ritenour School District is pleased to welcome Indira Larios Bell as the new assistant principal of Iveland Elementary School.
Larios Bell comes to Ritenour with 13 years of experience as a bilingual teacher, literacy coach and school administrator in PreK-12 schools in the San Francisco, Calif. area. She recently moved to the St. Louis area.
“I was immediately drawn to the vision and mission of the Ritenour School District, which greatly resonated with me,” said Larios Bell. “I am excited to become part of the Iveland family and look forward to joining a values-aligned group of educators and leaders in Ritenour who are committed to working toward equitable outcomes for students.”
Larios Bell spent her first nine years as a bilingual teacher in San Francisco middle and elementary schools before becoming an elementary literacy coach. She then served as an assistant principal at a PreK-8 school and high school before moving to Missouri this summer.
“Ms. Larios Bell’s breadth of experience with students and families in California, coupled with her strong leadership skills, makes her a wonderful asset for the Iveland community,” said Dr. Mike LaChance, Ritenour’s assistant superintendent for human resources and leadership development. “She has a passion for serving diverse communities and building meaningful relationships with staff, students and families. We are excited to welcome her aboard.”
As a first-generation college graduate, Larios Bell earned a bachelor’s in psychology and master’s in education with an emphasis in bilingual and cross cultural language and academic development from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and another master’s in education with an emphasis in leadership from UC Berkeley.
Larios Bell replaces Bilal Ewing, who was named principal of Marion Elementary.
