Three KRHS Media Students to Attend Prestigious Journalism Programs this Summer
Three rising Ritenour High School senior journalism students were selected to attend top journalism conferences and summer camps across the country during the summer 2022. Ritenour High School KRHS Media students Danielle Haynes, Roi Mundin, and Ulises Hernandez, will be working with leading educators and professionals in order to prepare for a career in communications.
- Danielle Haynes, was accepted to the exclusive Washington Journalism and Media Conference on the campus of George Washington University in Virginia. This competitive summer camp will designate her as a National Youth Correspondent for the state of Missouri. Haynes is an editor for the Pepper Box student newspaper, Melaureus yearbook, and is a performer with the Ritenour choir and musical.
- Roi Mundin will join the Xplore Journalism Workshop on the campus of Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green. Mundin will join students from around the country to travel to work with professionals exploring careers in journalism. At RHS, he is a member of the wrestling and volleyball teams, and will be president of the Class of 2023.
- Ulises Hernandez, a Ritenour Marching Band drum major and member of Ritenour Leadership, will be attending the High School Summer Workshop at University of Missouri-Columbia. This scholarship opportunity has been in place for Ritenour High School students for the last five years. Hernandez will then attend the Media Now Camp at Drake University in Iowa, which provides intensive training in journalism and leadership with top professionals in the country.
