Ritenour Announces New Assistant Principals at Buder and Kratz Elementary Schools
The Ritenour School District welcomes Ramone West as the new assistant principal at Buder Elementary, effective July 1, 2023.
West comes to Buder from Independence Elementary School in the Francis-Howell School District, where he has been an assistant principal intern since 2020. Prior to his experience at Independence, he was an assistant principal for three years at Carondelet Leadership Academy in St. Louis. He spent his first 11 years in education as a teacher for grades K-8 at Venice Elementary and CUSD #3 in Venice, IL.
West earned a bachelor’s in elementary education and a master’s in English teaching of writing, as well as an education specialist degree in education administration from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
West replaces Carolyn Leuthhauser, who will become assistant principal at Kratz Elementary, effective July 1. Leuthauser, a Ritenour graduate, has been a teacher, facilitator and assistant principal in Ritenour for the past 25 years. She has served as an assistant principal at Hoech Middle School and Buder.
Leuthauser replaces Nicole Burnett at Kratz. Burnett is pursuing interests outside of Ritenour.
