Ritenour High School welcomes Crystal Spearman as a new assistant principal, effective July 1, 2023.
Spearman comes to Ritenour High School as a veteran student-focused educational leader with expertise in staff development, schoolwide collaboration and student growth. Her 15 years in education in the St. Louis region include being a special education high school teacher, a reading specialist and an instructional coach.
Spearman currently is an instructional coach at Central Middle School in the Riverview Gardens School District. She also has served students and teachers in the Normandy Schools Collaborative, St. Louis Public Schools, Jennings, a St. Louis charter school, and Special School District while serving in Hazelwood and Jennings.
As a lifelong learner, Spearman earned both a bachelor’s in elementary education and a master’s in education from Fontbonne University, and then an educational specialist degree from Lindenwood University.
Spearman replaces Dr. Lindsay Hawkins, who will become an assistant principal at Hoech Middle School and the district’s International Welcome Center on July 1.
