The Ritenour School District is grateful for community partners who support students with additional back-to-school resources to help them get a strong start to the new 2023-2024 school year.
“The generosity and compassion toward our students from so many area businesses and faith organizations truly reflects the community’s support for all of our students,” said Superintendent Dr. Chris Kilbride.
The following organizations and churches helped our students get off to a strong start of the school year:

SSM Health-DePaul Hospital employees donated 100 new clear backpacks for Ritenour High School students and filled them with personal hygiene items, earbuds and school supplies for our students. Additionally, they filled boxes of hundreds of other supplies such as tissues, disinfectant wipes, notebooks, spiral notebooks, pens, pencils, sticky notes and plenty of other items to gift to our high school teachers’ classrooms.

Employees at John Henry Foster Company collected hundreds of school supplies, water bottles, and other items for Kratz and Marvin Elementary students to use this school year. John Henry Foster Company is located near Lambert International Airport and is a leading distributor of robotic and compressed air systems.

Iveland and Marion elementary schools are thankful to Overland Baptist Church for a wide variety of school supplies, and to Harmony Church for donating 30 backpacks filled with school supplies, plus additional supplies and children’s books for classrooms.

Marvin Elementary also was the gracious recipient of school supplies by Overland Baptist Church. The school also was able to give away backpacks from a previous donor to many students who needed them during the school’s Open House.

Ritenour Middle School received 1,062 school supplies from Calvary United Church of Christ at the start of the school year. Donated supplies included pencils, pens, tissue, composition notebooks, and spiral notebooks.
Thanks to an anonymous donation by an area church, Ritenour received a large monetary gift in addition to 100 new pencil boxes and 100 composition notebooks for each of our six elementary schools that will help our younger students in need be prepared for school.
