Ritenour Receives more than $348,000 for Wireless Technology & Telecommunications

The Ritenour School District has received $348,646 in discounts from the federal E-Rate program for the 2023-2024 school year that will allow the district to continue making improvements to the district’s wireless technology network and equipment.

E-Rate is a program of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) that provides affordable access to communications services to eligible K-12 schools and libraries nationwide. The program helps to ensure that schools and libraries have access to affordable information services and telecommunications.

Ritenour will be using the funding for the district’s wide area network and network hardware. The E-Rate funds represent a 90% discount on the costs of this technology, which is the highest percentage of funding Ritenour has received for technology infrastructure needs.

Since 1999, when the program started, Ritenour has received more than $5.8 million in E-Rate funds.
